Kolton Montague, 5, suffers from 4 different types of visual impairment including Nystagmus, Myopia, Rod-Cone Dystrophy and is also legally blind. His large family and community come together to support him to make sure he is prepared for the future. His parents, Kyle and Kelly, have a little playtime before bed with the four children - (l-r) Kellen-2, Kolton -5, Kylie-7 and Kellen's twin sister, Kaelyn-2.
Kyle helps Kolton use the scope on one of his hunting rifles. Kyle bought all four of their kids lifetime sporting licenses to go hunt with him. They haven't gone yet because they're too young but Kolton has shown an interest in going hunting with his dad.
Kolton and Kylie inspects the gutted deer hanging in the garage that Kelly brought home from a morning of deer hunting.
Kylie takes her twin siblings, Kellen and Kaelyn, on a ride with Kolton adding some additional horse power. "Whoever he (Kolton) can help he wants to help," says Kyle. "Whether itís the neighbor, me, his grandfathers, whoever - he wants to be working."
Kolton and Kellan play in one of the exhibits at The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, NY. Kellan also suffers from Nystagmus, one of the vision impairments Kolton has. Vision issues have been passed generationally through the males on Kelly's side of the family.

On a leisurely holiday afternoon, Kolton brushes Kylie's hair while Kellen chats with their father, Kyle.
Like most siblings, Kolton and his brother Kellan sometimes have disagreements that quickly escalate into physical battles. Here they fight over a box. "He (Kolton) is good with them (his siblings)," says Kelly. "They have times when they are best friends, but then they have times when they are siblings. They pick, they argue, they fight."
Under the watchful eye of Kyle, Kolton and Kylie brush their teeth and clean up for bedtime.
Kyle hangs with Kolton after tucking him into bed.
Kelly lets Kolton "drive" on one the back roads to their home in Avon, NY. "We don't know what the future holds for Kolton in terms of his vision," says Kelly. "we don't know if he'll ever be able to drive a car."
